HISTORY OF SODESA
A Company with more than 45 years old, with many experiences behind. The constant innovation along the production processes, adapting the constant dynamic needs of the consumer, new materials research, challenges and commitments with the environment. Nowadays we still write our history, always being at the forefront of the innovation.
1974
A group of poultry producers, decide to stop importing the egg packaging and start a new adventure by producing them. It is when SODESA is funded. By means of the latest machinery their first products under the new brand are manufactured. Our core business were the packaging for the egg industry, however, some of our production lines were focused on the toy industry.
2008
During 2008 Sodesa experienced an important restructuring process. In this period we face an enlargement of our premises, adquire new warehouses and opening new production departments, working hardly in order to improve the thermoforming and extrusion processes.
2009
An important milestone to point out is obtaining the BRC/IoP (British Retail Consortium / Institute of Packaging. The requirements of the BRC/ IoP guarantee the safety of packaging and fulfilment of all legal and hygenic requirements, endorsing the hard work done during the previous years.
2012/2015
During this period we have focused our resources in investigation in order to drive new production processes. Our target is to start manufacturing PET packs, using both virgin and recycled raw materials.
2016
Throughout this year we start manufacturing PET packaging. Most of the packs are being manufactured by the use of recycled raw material. Due to this fact, SODESA becomes un of the most innovative and sustainable company of its market.
2018
Sodesa faces a new challenge, and intensifies the internationalization. The company opens up to new markets all around the world, which required investment in more production and human resources.
2019
Throughout our history, the manufacturing of egg packaging has been our core business. However, during 2019 we started with the manufacturing for other sectors within the food industry and developed packaging for the medical and pharmaceutical industy.
